We literally climbed a mountain today. Woohoo!! Feels good to know what heights we can reach, and it felt even better to descend from those heights 😉

I have to admit I am mentally and physically exhausted after grinding away for hours today against the incline and the strong winds that came on in the afternoon. Ryan and I are both looking forward to some much needed rest and a big breakfast tomorrow morning to help rebuild our bodies!
New Mexico has been gorgeous so far and we are looking forward to seeing the little bit that is left before we head into Arizona in a few days.
But first… SLEEP!

152 all day! Then a right onto highway 180 to camp just up the road.
There’s not a lot of people that are going to understand the magnitude of this challenge that you both have taken. The wind is an energy taking brain grinding experience the test you by the minute. That’s just one thing right there then add the other hundred plus things you encounter everyday is an epic day. Keep pushing you’re in beautiful country now. You are doing this!

Great to get a comment from you Sanddango! It’s wonderful to have your respect for that challenge we took on. I’m sure you can relate. It sure is beautiful country, we love it here. Thank you for welcoming us into your neck of the woods like you have!
Since we’re here, I’ve got a question for you. Ryan and I saw a HUGE ant the other day on our tent. It was marching around all by itself. It had an orange tint and a subtly striped abdomen. Do you know what kind of ant this might be?

If the stripes are goldish I would say it’s a carpenter ant.
